Interactive Technology Teacher Training for Central Asia Education Solutions, Kazakhstan

To support Central Asia Education Solutions (CAES) in their project to integrate interactive technology into schools, TT Lab consultants developed a comprehensive training program focused on the pedagogical use of interactive tools. This initiative resulted in the training of 400 teachers across 10 secondary schools in Kazakhstan, empowering educators to harness interactive technology effectively in their classrooms.

CAES is an integrator and distributor of equipment for educational institutions in Central Asia, specializing in supplying innovative equipment and creating modern educational environments.

Project challenge

The Challenge

Beyond Tools

The large scale of the project, combined with the necessity to train lots of teachers to a tight time-scale for the newly built schools under the government’s "Comfortable School" program was quite a challenge. Creating pedagogically sound and impactful training to tight timelines (as opposed to EdTech training focused solely on tool demonstration) demanded an innovative approach.

The key challenge was to deliver a transformative training experience that redefined teaching and learning through EdTech. The goal was not just to equip teachers with the skills to use innovative interactive tools but to ensure these tools were applied in pedagogically meaningful ways. The training aimed to unlock the potential of interactive technology to boost student engagement and improve academic outcomes.

Project journey

The Journey

Bridging Technology and Classroom Practice

CAES, a distributor of Promethean interactive technology - ActivPanel and software solutions in Central Asia, reached out to TT Lab for support with the training. TT Lab’s founder, Inna Stevens, brought her 15 years of experience in the EdTech industry and 20+ years in teacher training to the project. Having led international programs, including Train the Trainer initiatives for Promethean, she was well positioned to design a solution tailored to the project’s goals.

TT Lab developed an engaging, hands-on training program and materials grounded in active learning, collaboration, and reflective practice. The sessions encouraged teachers to connect the use of interactive panel and software solutions to their everyday classroom realities. Over the course of the project, Inna Stevens delivered training to 400 teachers across 10 schools in September 2024.

The program went beyond teaching technical skills. Teachers were encouraged to share best practices and inspire each other to innovate. The training highlighted how ActivPanel’s tools and features could transform teaching, while also framing the interactive technology in the broader context of the ever changing EdTech landscape.

The Outcome

Laying the Groundwork for Innovation

The project resulted in a transformative training experience that empowered over 400 teachers to confidently integrate Promethean interactive technology into their classrooms. Teachers acquired not only technical skills but also gained valuable insights into the innovative use of technology to create engaging, student-centered lessons.

The training provided practical, easy-to-follow steps for embedding interactive technology into everyday teaching practices, ensuring that teachers could immediately apply what they had learned.

The project’s success demonstrated CAES expertise in implementing a complex initiative while ensuring the long-term sustainability of interactive technology use in schools. The collaboration with TT Lab has laid a solid foundation for ongoing innovation in the education system, maximizing the benefits of EdTech in classrooms.
